Honey Hive: Sweet Puzzle

A 100-level mobile logic puzzle with no timers: send the bees to the flowers in the right order and fill every honeycomb. For iPhone.

The Honey Hive logo, the app icon and two game screens: a level board and the level complete window

The idea

Honey Hive is a calm, colourful logic puzzle starring a team of busy little bees. Tap a bee and it flies into the garden, gathers nectar from a flower of its own colour and carries it home to the hive. Fill every honeycomb and the level is done.

The order is the whole puzzle. When a top flower is used up the one below it opens, vines lock flowers until the flower they grow from is cleared, bees wait in lanes, and if every slot fills up you are out of moves. We wanted a game you understand in the first five seconds, play with one tap, and still have to think a few moves ahead in. No timers, no rush.

How we built it

  • Unity 6 and C#, designed for a portrait (9:16) iPhone experience. Game rules, the meta layer and the app shell live in separate assemblies, and the rules are guarded by Edit Mode and Play Mode tests.
  • Levels are generated and then solved. A generator drafts each level and a solver checks that it is actually solvable and how hard it is. 100 levels, from gentle first steps to “hard” and “super hard”.
  • An economy that does not interrupt. Stars, a star chest, coins, five lives, hints and undo, and a free gift every day. Ads are rewarded only: players watch one if they want to and earn a life, a hint or an undo. There are no in-app purchases.
  • Silent sign-in and cloud save. The game signs in with Game Center, or anonymously if that is unavailable; progress lives in Unity Cloud Save and comes back on a new device. Analytics runs only with the player’s consent and only covers level and rewarded ad events; a “Delete my data” setting removes the account and the data in one tap.
  • Feel. A custom iOS bridge for haptic feedback on every tap, juicy flowers, happy sounds, and an interface in English and Turkish.

Result

The first release targets iPhone (iOS 15 and later): 100 levels, offline play, no purchases, rated 4+. The next release adds rewarded ads only, through Google AdMob. The game’s privacy policy and terms of use are linked from this page.
